Cindy has contributed a number of noteworthy technical accomplishments throughout her remarkable 31 year career at BP, many of which have shaped the company’s current portfolio and performance. In her current role, she serves as ambassador for BP’s U.S. businesses and employees, ensuring the company maintains strong, effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Cindy’s contributions to leadership have been recognized at the highest levels of the company. For her work in seismic imaging and drilling, she has received three Helios Awards, the highest honor the company awards its internal projects.
Cindy’s technical expertise, business acumen, and high emotional intelligence make her an exemplary leader. She is an executive sponsor for the Houston Women’s Network, as well as the young professional “Challenge” program, a resource group for new hires. Cindy understands the complexities of starting at a new company, and finding a way to achieve a balance between job responsibilities and outside-of-work activities. She uses this platform to listen to employee experiences and share some of the lessons she has learned throughout her career.
As a geologist, Cindy is passionate about STEM education, and she dedicates many hours to inspiring and encouraging the next generation of scientists, engineers, and leaders in the energy industry, both at BP and in the local community. She is part of BP’s Million Women Mentors Leadership Council, where she works alongside other female leaders in the company in an effort to mobilize one million mentors – both male and female – to inspire and instill confidence in girls and young women, while empowering them to pursue careers in STEM-based industries. She also participates on a range of boards and conferences to share her expertise and experience.
