Director of Tube Manufacturing Gambrinus Steel Plant
"I love problem solving, whether it be a technical or employee issue. There are always an abundant supply of opportunities for problem resolution and continuous improvement in manufacturing. Throughout my entire manufacturing career, I always feel that I have contributed to successes at the end of every day."
Carolee has extensive breadth and depth of operational knowledge, which makes her an invaluable asset to TimkenSteel's manufacturing team. In fact, she is widely viewed as an expert in tube manufacturing. Having such a well-respected female serving in this capacity is a rarity within the industry. In addition to her knowledge of steel manufacturing, one of Carolee's strengths is in managing people and projects, and she is often brought into challenging assignments to add value and make quick and positive impacts.
Carolee has a reputation for thinking outside the traditional box; she's compassionate about her people and passionate about her job, which makes her a highly skilled leader. She has participated in Timken's/TimkenSteel's formal mentoring program, as well as mentored informally, for more than 10 years. She frequently works with other women who are in progressive positions within the company, providing coaching and direction for their roles and longer-term career goals.
In 2015 and 2016, she served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the company's ArtsinStark employee giving campaign. Her fun-inspiring approach combined with her ability to lead a team, helped to both increase the number of donations received and exceed the goal by significant percentages. In addition, Carolee plays a key role in overseeing the company's annual United Way campaign at her plant, making sure fundraising activities at the plant coincide with campaign goals. Carolee makes an impact in the community outside of her role at TimkenSteel as well. She just began a term as secretary on the board of Massillon AHEAD, Inc., a non-profit organization serving the social, emotional, and educational needs of families in the Massillon, Ohio, community.
