Maintenance Manager - Insulin Manufacturing
Eli Lilly and Company
"Manufacturing allows for the opportunity to impact others’ lives daily, both those of our patients and those of my colleagues. Challenges are ever present, including the opportunity to grow through constant challenges afforded by the evolution of our processes and our people. This inspires me daily to elevate my performance."
Christi currently leads a Maintenance organization of 75 employees in a large insulin manufacturing facility. She was recently promoted into this role after being recognized not only for her strong technical skills but her leadership abilities and talent for influencing others as well. In a short amount of time, she has been able to be immediately effective in her role and is already seeing positive results.
Christi has served as a mentor to several engineering interns over the past few years, including her role as an intern supervisor this year. In addition to overseeing the interns' project and daily activities, she provides advice on networking, career goals/planning, presentation skills, and resume tips. Upon coming to Lilly, Christi had extensive experience with PI process book. She leveraged her knowledge and experience to create a training course and tools that she delivered to the entire engineering department, and continued to mentor her fellow engineers as they learned more about the tool.
Christi is the United Way Ambassador for the site and coordinates activities to assist in programing and fundraising. Prior to coming to Indianapolis, Christi was heavily involved in her previous community. Seeing the importance of developing the pipeline of talent for the community, she chaired the Young Professionals of Muscatine Program. As a result of her initiatives and effort, she received the Young Professional of the Year Award in 2015.
Outside of work, Christi coached a high school girls’ club volleyball team from 2011 to early 2015. In addition to teaching teamwork and strategy on the court, Christi mentored them off the court on college pursuits, career direction, and guided them on where to find more information when needed.
