Misti Nehus
North America Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Sealed Air Corporation

"I am passionate about manufacturing because every person in the organization has the ability to contribute to the overall success of the team. In the manufacturing environment, the reward is seeing the results of people working together to improve the lives of employees, customers, and the world in which we live in."

Misti is effective in not only developing and implementing environmental and safety improvements and management systems for the company's NA Food Care division facilities, but also at supporting, coaching, and developing the all site EHS professionals in these facilities. She has established herself as a key contributor to the global EHS and engineering teams, and has improved the efficiency of the process to implement projects.

In addition to her current role, Misti also leads the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) – Reaching the Shop Floor committee and is a member of the global WIN steering committee. Her ability to establish a vision, get a team to focus on specific actions to accomplish goals, and develop standard processes are examples of her leadership. Most importantly, Misti is able to influence individuals in key roles to commit to the vision, which contributes to the overall success of the committee.

Misti is a member of the Middle Tennessee American Society of Safety Engineers chapter that aims to network and increase knowledge on making workplaces and the environment safer.  She has also donated her time to speak at events such as the Western Kentucky Society of Human Resource Management quarterly meeting and career day at a local high school. In addition, Misti has participated in a variety of other community charity events including the United Way – Day of Caring, the American Heart Association – Heart Walk, Relay for Life, and the Salvation Army – Angel Tree Program.
