Jeanette travels the world approximately 70 percent of her time for Dana. She has established a process to improve overall internal controls within the division that involves in-depth training for all areas including finance, materials, quality, engineering, payroll, and purchasing. Jeanette is recognized for driving positive change within plants through her effective communication, leadership, and influence with plant managers and their management staff. After the lower-than-industry average 2014 Employee Engagement Survey results, Jeanette took on the task of finding ways to improve employee communication, awareness, and overall engagement within the business unit. The results from the most recent survey show mostly well above industry average results within finance and the business unit, which can be linked back in part to Jeanette’s leadership.
Jeanette actively seeks mentoring opportunities, including developing training materials where relevant and providing one-on-one mentoring during site visits. She is instrumental to on-boarding employees to the company’s values and culture, serving as a trusted role model who demonstrates those core values every day. She is a trusted resource who not only has the technical skills critical to her role, but is an effective communicator in sharing those skills with others.
Jeanette recognizes the importance of stewardship within the community, and supports local efforts around her extensive travel schedule. She’s an active donor to “Any Kid Can,” a program working with inner-city youth in the Toledo, as well “Books for Buddies.” Both programs emphasize the critical role of education and exposure in helping children rise above their circumstances and explore new, meaningful opportunities.
