Laura leverages her technical expertise and leadership skills to accomplish important change to enhance efficiency and safety. She has led efforts to identify enhanced management systems for Predictive/Preventative Maintenance programs on a regional level for BASF, in both the Mechanical and Instrument & Electrical disciplines. She’s demonstrated strong leadership skills as Coordinator on the BASF Maintenance Global Management Team, a virtual team comprised of regional maintenance leaders from across the globe. With this multi-cultural, far-flung group, Laura has relied on her communication and collaboration skills, as well as her passion for diversity and cultural awareness to drive business results.
She values mentorship and participates in mentoring activities across the board, from local school STEM activities to working with the company’s new hires. Her mentoring includes coaching and training on technical job functions, along with providing helpful tips and advice for those moving to the local area. In addition to mentoring new hires, Laura has also supervised summer internship students.
Laura is active in the local community surrounding the BASF Freeport Texas Site. She is a volunteer member of the local Brazosport symphony orchestra, where she plays the flute. She is also a member of the local Women in Business Chapter and the BASF employee resource group, Emerging Professionals & Friends. Through her efforts, the group established the first annual Site Diversity Fair which invites other employee resource groups to share information about themselves, and the cultures they are representing at the site and within their surrounding communities.
