Skotti pursues excellence with an engaging attitude that energizes everyone around her. She often tells her coworkers that happiness does not come from material things, but from our accomplishments and the positive impact we make on others. After BorgWarner Morse Systems won its first business in Brazil, Skotti was tasked with launching a $15M manufacturing startup operation. She relocated from the USA and quickly learned a new language and a complex business environment. Despite a deep recession, she was able to hire and train an eight-person leadership team, establish a new supply base, and create a culture that laid the groundwork for adding three new business programs and quadrupling overall revenue to $60M. Before joining BorgWarner, Skotti earned a Malcolm Baldridge Award and Six Sigma Green Belt.
Mentoring others has been a passion for Skotti throughout her career. As Global Supplier Development Director, she led a team that developed a formal mentoring program for supplier engineers across all BorgWarner businesses. The team surveyed employee needs, matched mentees with mentors, defined mentoring goals, identified challenges, and documented the process. The program matched pairs that have flourished, resulting in personal and professional growth for those involved.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Skotti has helped her team establish a Community Outreach Committee in Mexico to allow employees to give back. From feeding the homeless to visiting the elderly in nursing homes, to donating medicine and clothes to the local hospital to sponsoring movie night for orphaned children, Skotti and her team have touched the lives of many.
