Brigit leads Cooper Standard’s North American team of more than 300 engineers, scientists, and technicians in engineering, laboratories, prototype facilities, and technical centers in Southeast Michigan; Auburn, Indiana; Bowling Green, Ohio; and Mitchell, Ontario. In the past year, she has created, gained support for, and led Cooper Standard’s Global Engineering Council, whose efforts will define the path for Cooper Standard to be recognized as a world-leading innovator and world-class technology company.
She is the co-executive lead of WISE (Women, Inspire, Support, Enrich), an internal Cooper Standard mentoring group. WISE aims to bring together employees from different functions and at all levels of the organization, to drive and engage in activities related to three of the company’s key focus areas. Under Brigit’s leadership, WISE has achieved many successes including supporting a range of community efforts, organizing events that promote the future of manufacturing, and developing several internal programs to promote employee engagement.
Since her appointment as the North American champion for Cooper Standard’s STEM Affinity Group in 2015, Brigit has helped establish the program that trains and coordinates Cooper Standard’s STEM Accelerator employee volunteers. These volunteers offer tutoring, science demonstrations, and career information to the next generation of manufacturing talent as part of the company’s ongoing STEM education program. As the technical lead, Brigit has been instrumental in helping inspire and engage students to pursue STEM jobs, a critical effort for technological innovation, manufacturing sustainability, and global competitiveness.
