"If you have an aptitude for math or science, don’t waste it. Get a Bachelor’s in anything technical that interests you. Having a technical understanding of the product will make you more valuable to your employer and allow you to move up through the ranks much more quickly.”

Although Evolve didn’t open its doors until the late 90s, Noreen’s manufacturing history goes back to her days as a young woman in Ireland working on the floor of her father’s shop where she learned first-hand the ins and outs of manufacturing, supply chain management, order fulfillment, and customer service.  After completing her bachelors degree in Engineering in Ireland, Noreen moved to Northern California and continued to work in manufacturing while planting the seeds of her own enterprise
In 1999, Evolve Manufacturing opened its doors with a handful of employees just before the Valley's dot-com bubble burst.  Noreen managed to retain profitability through two major recessions, all the while skirting employee layoffs and ensuring price-competitive, high-quality manufacturing delivery for her clients. For the company's efforts, Evolve was named to Inc. 500's list of Fastest Growing Companies in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and to the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Companies in 2011 and 2012.
Noreen is mindful of the people who helped her along the way and her experience has shaped her personal commitment to paying it forward, especially when it comes to young women who are interested in pursuing careers in math and science.  She enjoys working with girls there who are interested in pursuing high-tech careers. She is also a member of Technovation, the technology entrepreneurship program and competition for young women ages 10 to 23, and actively reaches out to mentor girls from lower income families in her area who may not have access and exposure.
