“Manufacturing is in my DNA.  I love to think outside the box. Things I create today will be in a car in the near future. Being on top of cutting edge technology gets my blood pumping.”

Erica shares her technical talents and passion for manufacturing to help run the family-owned business effectively while making employees feel like a part of the family.  In addition to sharing the ownership, Erica is also the Prototype Manager, working with suppliers in improving design changes that resulted in significant leading technology that brought the department to the forefront of the field.  Her contributions have given Wiegel Tool Works an increase of over 52% over the last 4 years in her department.

Erica is a member of the Tooling Manufacturing Association (TMA) as part of the Young Leaders team, as well as the Insurance Board.  She is also a member of the Greater O’Hare Association (G.O.A) and the Women in Manufacturing Association (WiM).  She is passionate about sharing with the local community and is collaborating with Harper College to establish a new two-year program designed to provide student internships.

Erica has sponsored countless tours of the manufacturing facility, introducing young adults from local high schools and colleges to the manufacturing field.  She also coordinates year-round Food Drives for the Wood Dale Food Pantry and Toy drives for La Rabida Children’s Hospital.    Erica is credited by many with making the work environment feel like a home away from home.
