“Manufacturing is a primary driver for job creation in our nation. We have been manufacturing and innovating high quality electrical products for over 100 years. It is extremely gratifying to be part of team making a difference in an industry I am so passionate about.”
Liz’s persistence and professionalism during her career helped ensure that women in any aspect of the electrical industry be recognized and supported for their service and contributions. She realized that the NAED, an organization that provides programs and educational offerings to distributors and manufacturers, could play a major role in supporting women and their career development in the industry. Liz suggested the formation of a group within NAED specifically for its female members. Under her leadership, the NAED Women in Industry Committee was formed and an educational Forum is held each year.
Liz’s passion for advocacy is based in her own career experiences. Through her work within NAED, her customer relationships and her ability to identify with people who are like-minded about having a responsibility to “pay it forward” to those who follow in our footsteps, she is laying the foundation for female professionals who choose to make a career in electrical manufacturing and distribution.
At NAED, Liz served as a member and Chairperson of the Manufacturer’s Council and now serves on the Certified Electrical Professional’s Committee. She was honored with the NAED Associate Service Award for her support of the tenets and goals of NAED as a manufacturer. Liz also serves on the Thomas & Betts Community Connections Committee that provides contributions to non-profit organizations in the greater Memphis area.
