Many people—teachers and students included—are amazed to learn how much we manufacture in the United States and how diverse the careers are in our dynamic industry. Today’s manufacturing is about new innovation, making an impact, and a chance to design and build the future.

This teacher guide introduces middle and high school students to the world of manufacturing, its impact on our communities and economy, and the career opportunities in the industry. Whether they are interested in design, engineering, or even the business side of the industry, there is a place for everyone in manufacturing.

With a variety of multidisciplinary lesson plans, fact sheets, and student activities, the guide is a go-to resource for teachers and school support staff. It’s also a great resource for Manufacturing Ambassadors and for companies to share with partner schools.

This guide was made possible by the Toyota U.S.A. Foundation and Dream It. Do It. Minnesota, led by 360 Manufacturing Center of Excellence and Bemidji State University.
