If education were a problem in manufacturing, we would fix it at the earliest source: Early Childhood. Early Childhood Development is recognized within the manufacturing community for the significant contributions it makes to educational attainment leading to a more productive workforce and to the resulting long-term economic impact of these early investments.
Recent studies show that reaching children before kindergarten is essential to their lifetime success. Key workforce skills such as motivation, persistence and self-control are developed early. Cognitive and non-cognitive abilities are important for a productive workforce, and gaps that emerge early are difficult to change.
The Manufacturing Institute has partnered with ReadyNation of America’s Promise Alliance to develop and deploy effective strategies for promoting smart investments in Early Childhood education.
