Military to Manufacturing: A Forum for Manufacturers

Wednesday, 11/29/2017

Time:
8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Manufacturers face ongoing challenges filling their talent pipeline, and a growing shortage of talent as current workers retire, skill needs increase, and prospective employees have misperceptions about manufacturing careers. This forum will help companies of all sizes in the Austin region to find information, partnerships, potential support, and actionable steps they can take to solve current and future workforce challenges, with a particular focus on veterans as a source of manufacturing talent.

Participants will walk away with connections to military bases, educational institutions, and organizations that are helping to assess, train, and place veterans. In addition, the forum will help companies understand the common skill needs and priorities across manufacturers in the capital region and programs that manufacturing associations and organizations are developing to fill the regional needs.
