With women representing less than a third of the manufacturing workforce, it’s clear manufacturers are missing out on a critical talent pool, which could aid remarkably in closing the skills gap.

For companies across the Houston region, the skills gap is not an abstraction—it’s a day-to-day reality that is impacting the bottom-line. Finding, retaining, and advancing women in manufacturing remain a top priority for our nation’s employers. Working alone or together, manufacturers of all sizes are taking action. Industry has an opportunity to mitigate the gap by encouraging and recruiting more women to join the ranks of manufacturing employees.
